Independence Day Celebrations at Guru Nanak International Public School, Model Town

Independence Day was celebrated at Guru Nanak International Public School, Model Town on 12th August, 2023 with great zeal and fervour.  The theme for the celebration was ‘Salute to Unforgettable Brave Hearts’. The campus was decorated with tricolour kites, tricolour papers & flags to commemorate the day.  All the faculty members wore any of the tricolour attire. The day began with a special assembly wherein a patriotic song’ Ae mere vatan ke logo’ was sung in chorus. After that students were enlightened about history of Independence Day. A cultural fiesta was also organized for students wherein different wings (classes 1 to 10) presented a plethora of performance. Students of senior wing performed two role plays depicting scenes of Indian Independence and Kargil Vijay. Promoting Inclusive Education, a special performance was given by Jaskirat Singh of class VI C a Child With Special Needs (CWSN).

Enhancing education through Parent-School Collaboration, a surprise dance was performed by one of the mothers of a student of grade III which got everyone’s feet tapping.

The students of classes Nursery, LKG & UKG coloured National Flag, National Flower & made tricolour badges respectively. Students of classes I & II enacted role play of freedom fighters & made flags.

The students gave a message that we should be responsible for our behaviour & what we can do to make our country proud. Young leaders can make a name at the World level & we all can be the makers of our country. Speech cum Dance participants filled our hearts with emotions & patriotism as their roles were very heart touching.

Principal Mrs. Gurmant Kaur Gill highlighted the importance of Independence Day. She congratulated all on the celebration of 76 years of Independence. It was a great success.
